Everybody talks about revenue, right? But what no one really talks about is profit. 

I've invited on my bookkeeper, Emily Sandberg. In addition to being a bookkeeper, she's a Certified Life Coach through the Life Coach School. She has completely transformed how I look at the numbers in my business, and we’ve never been more financially healthy.

I asked her to share with us how she looks at online businesses from a financial perspective. We talk about how to plan for profit in your business, how much you should keep in your business account, money mindset, a new way to think about how you price your offers, and at what point you should consider bringing on a bookkeeper. 

We’re challenging beliefs around what it means to have a seven-figure business as opposed to, a few-hundred-thousand-dollar business. Emily also shares an example of one of her clients who was doing $1.2 million in business, yet they were losing $20,000 a month.

We always see what's going on above the water. Just the tip of the iceberg. When you look at someone else’s business and start to compare yourself to them, remember that you’re not seeing what’s going on under the water, and sometimes it's messy. In order to find success, you need to focus on what’s going on under the water in your own business.  

When most online course creators try to figure out what makes other course creators successful, they usually start by asking, “what are they doing?”

Does that sound like you?

What you don't realize is that you're asking the wrong question. The better question to ask is “what am I doing that they're not doing?”

And it's often hard to answer that question for yourself because you're too close to your own business.

Are you stuck on pricing your flagship offer? Is it too high? Is it too low? This trips a lot of people up which is exactly why I wanted to put together this episode for you today.

Last week we talked about how to create a flagship offer and why. If you haven’t heard that episode yet, go back and listen to that one first! I’m giving you ten things to think about when it comes to pricing your offer. From market research to human psychology, there are a lot of things that people don’t think about when pricing their offer….and these things can make your life easier!

Today I want to share with you the quickest way to predictable $5K months in your business, because let’s be honest, we all want it. 

I want to share my own experience from my business over the past seven years, as well as that of the hundreds of students that I've worked with over the years as I've helped them optimize, grow, and scale their online businesses. What have I learned? The quickest way to predictable $5K months is by having a flagship offer.

A flagship offer is what you’re known for, or what you’re becoming known for if you're still in the very early stages of your business. 

The big mistake that I see so many online course creators making when trying to grow and scale their business is that they have too many offers. Their mindset is that the more offers that they have, the more money they’re going to make. I want to flip that and tell you why I believe that the fewer offers you have, the more money you’ll make and the faster you’ll grow. 

What I see happen all the time is that when a course doesn’t sell well, the course creator decides that nobody wants their program and they say “hey, maybe I should create a membership instead.” This just leads to more and more offers, but doesn’t address the root of the problem. So let’s address it together today.

How you can create more freedom and leverage in your business through hiring a team.  And it’s not just about bringing people onto your team and into your business.  It’s really about having an optimized team. I am back with another quick tip episode.  These episodes have tips or strategies you can use to help you grow your online business so you can have a bigger impact and increase your revenue in the process.

In this episode, we are talking about the one thing that allowed me to shift my mindset.  It’s the idea of playing your business like you’ve already achieved your goal.  And you can do this whether you want to have a six-figure business or you want to be a seven-figure CEO. 

Rather than acting and making decisions based on past results or experiences, what if you started showing up and making decisions in your business right now as if you’ve already achieved what you’re going after.

When you start something and immediately think you will accomplish your goal, you’ll start showing up as more powerful, more confident, and more decisive in your decision making.  You’ll be more efficient with your time and more strategic, all of which contribute to your success

A common misconception about the phenomenon called Imposter Syndrome is that you can “educate” yourself out of feeling it. This is not necessarily the case! 

My guest today is Dr. Nicole Rankins and she is here to chat about how someone with an advanced degree in medicine and fifteen years as a practicing OB-GYN can still feel imposter syndrome.  Dr. Rankins is the go-to resource for comprehensive, evidence-based, holistic information about pregnancy and birth and also the creator of The Birth Preparation Course.

I am back with another quick tip episode.  These episodes have tips or strategies you can use to help you grow your online business so you can have a bigger impact and increase your revenue in the process. 

In this quick tip episode, we are talking about something I see so often in the online space.  People being stuck in indecision fatigue.  I see posts in Facebook groups where people are asking for feedback on inconsequential things in their business instead of putting it out there and letting their clients and customers decide.  

Many people often wait for other people’s approval and that is exactly what is holding them back.  We are not making a decision because we think that if we make a decision, it’s going to be the wrong one.  

Over the years I have learned that if you want to be an effective, optimized CEO, you must be decisive.  You make decisions and live with the results of those decisions.  If they work out, great!  Do more of that! If something doesn’t work, figure out why and try something new. 

Tune in to figure out why this might be the reason you are not making the strides you want to in your business.  Stop asking other people what their thoughts are.  Make a decision, get it out there and see what the response is.

Today I want to address a question I saw recently in a Facebook group. Should you let people buy after a deadline? 

Inevitably, when you have a deadline in place, you will have people reach out to you afterwards explaining why they missed it and asking if they can still get in. Now, you might feel inclined to say yes because you don’t want to turn away revenue. I hear you. I used to feel the same way. But today I want to talk about why I don’t do that anymore.
