Are you currently using LinkedIn for your online business? If not, this episode of the Art of Online Business podcast may just convince you that you need to start.

My guest in this episode, Chase Gibson, is here to show you that there is a HUGE opportunity available to make money through LinkedIn for anyone with a strategy.

Chase is a successful entrepreneur in the fitness industry that has mastered using LinkedIn for his own business. He has now created an online course called “Lords of LinkedIn” where he teaches other established entrepreneurs how to use LinkedIn to add at least an additional six figures of revenue in 90 days.

On Today’s Show You’ll Learn About:

  • Who LinkedIn is for and not for
  • Why LinkedIn is the perfect platform for promoting high-ticket offers
  • The three most important elements of your LinkedIn profile
  • How LinkedIn has evolved over the years
  • Why the LinkedIn community respects marketers
  • How creating consistent content on LinkedIn sets you apart
  • The best type of content to create to get views
  • Why “playing by the rules” on LinkedIn is important

As Chase shows us in this episode, most people still think of LinkedIn as just a resume platform. With a straightforward strategy, you can position yourself as the authority in your industry with your LinkedIn content.

I hope after you listen to this episode, you will feel compelled to develop a strategy and up your LinkedIn game for your online business.

I am back with another quick tip episode.  These episodes have tips or strategies you can use to help you grow your online business so you can have a bigger impact and increase your revenue in the process.

What if I told you that the simpler your business, the better? That the simpler your business is set up from an offers perspective, the faster you're going to grow from a revenue perspective? Seems counterintuitive right?

In today’s episode, let me explain to you why this works. So often I see students that are trying to overcomplicate their business. They're trying to do too much because they think that that is the key to growing and scaling. It seems logical that if you add more to the business, then that will add revenue, but actually the opposite is true. And believe me, I made the same mistake when I was starting out, and I learned this the hard way.

Simplifying is the key. Instead of adding more offers, optimize what’s already working for you. Not only is that going to bring in more revenue than overcomplicating, it’s also going to make your own life easier!

If you’re trying to juggle multiple offers and just not getting the results you want, tune in to this quick tip episode and find out how to get things running the way you want!

And, if you’re a course creator, an online coach, or maybe you have a membership site and you're ready for a consistent five or six-figure months, but you're not sure what you should be doing to get there, I want to invite you to apply for my newly up-leveled monthly accelerator coaching and mastermind program. It’s now open by application only, so to learn more or apply, go to rickmulready.com/accelerator.

I get questions all the time about how I run my business, so in today’s episode I’m finally taking you behind the scenes of what goes down. Hopefully you’ll learn a little about me and a LOT about yourself and what drives your own business!

Leaving the corporate world and embarking on my own entrepreneurial journey has been a pretty wild ride, and I have learned so much over the years that has helped me and I think could help you too. We’re going to talk structure, organization, and numbers as well as mindset, goals, and deeper purpose. We’re getting into it all!

If you like to learn by example, this episode is the PERFECT learning opportunity for you!

On Today’s Show You’ll Learn:

  • Where my business has come from, where it is now, and where it's going
  • How my idea of success has changed since starting out
  • The importance of being clear on your deeper purpose
  • How an internalized lack, limited, and scarcity mindset can affect you as an entrepreneur
  • How your mindset around money creates lifelong habits and attitudes in your kids
  • Why I have a small team
  • The three units that I break my business into
  • The five core values that my team revolves around
  • The importance of defining your values
  • The value of success and accountability coaches
  • The difference between the Foundations program and the Accelerator program

This episode has been a great opportunity for me to reflect on what I’ve learned as an entrepreneur, and I hope it has provided some insight into your own, no matter how far along your journey you are.

If you want to join the waitlist for the brand new Foundations program that I am so excited about, go to www.rickmulready.com/waitlist

I am back with another quick tip episode.  These episodes have tips or strategies you can use to help you grow your online business so you can have a bigger impact and increase your revenue in the process.

Today we’re diving into what a lead magnet is and how to create an effective one. It’s something that a lot of people find overwhelming, but I’m telling you now, it doesn’t have to be that complicated!

When we say “high converting” lead magnet, that’s really all relative. What’s high converting for one person, might not be for another. Like so many things in business, it’s all about figuring out your own audience and what they need! Once you’ve figured out what it is they need and how to give it to them, congrats! You have everything you need to create a successful lead magnet!

In this episode I’m sharing with you the four questions that you should ask yourself when creating a lead magnet, whether this is your first or fiftieth attempt. We’re also talking about what a lead magnet is, why they still have value today, and how to figure out what converts best for you.

If you’ve been wondering how to set up your own lead magnet, or how to get better results from one you already have, this is the episode you’ve been waiting for!

If you’re a course creator, an online coach, or maybe you have a membership site and you're ready for a consistent five or six-figure months, but you're not sure what you should be doing to get there, I want to invite you to apply for my newly up-leveled monthly accelerator coaching and mastermind program. It’s now open by application only, so to learn more or apply, go to rickmulready.com/accelerator.

Do you feel like you need permission to say that you have an idea worth committing to? Are you trying to prove to yourself and others that you have value? Imagine how free you would feel if those thoughts weren’t holding you back.

Today’s guest, Melissa Webb, felt like she needed permission. She even asked for my permission, and you know what I told her? Of course you have my permission but you don’t NEED it. Lifting that mindset block changed everything. She went from trying to please everyone and doing way too much, to offering a simplified service to an audience she truly wanted to serve.

Melissa Webb creates online writing communities to support and encourage families in home education. She is the owner and creator of Write On! Melissa is a published children's book author and a co-host on The Mel & Kel Show podcast.

Melissa is a former teacher who left the classroom to start an online business teaching writing to home school teachers. I asked her to join me today to share her journey from making money as a side hustle to going full time with her business, and the struggles that she's faced along the way. From mindset blocks to moving beyond referrals and creating a predictable stream of leads in sales.

On Today’s Show You’ll Learn:

  • How Melissa transitioned from teaching to starting an online course
  • How to stop asking for permission
  • Why you should take time to reflect on where you’ve been
  • The problem with trying to please everyone, and how to stop
  • How changing your mindset will grow your business
  • Why simplifying your offers will attract more business
  • The importance of thinking about your thinking
  • How Melissa overcame fear around using Facebook and Instagram ads
  • How hiring help can prepare you to handle growth

If you’re ready to stop asking for permission and break down those mindset blocks, this is the episode for you! It’s time to stop trying to prove yourself, and start scaling the business you really want!

If you're an online expert like Melissa, and you'd like my help taking your online business to the next level, I invite you to apply for my new monthly accelerator coaching and mastermind program. If you're an online expert who has already achieved a certain level of success, but you’re not sure how to get to the next level, what you don’t need is another course or more books to read. You need a cohesive growth strategy, coaching, support, accountability and community. Apply now for my monthly accelerator program at www.rickmulready.com/accelerator.

I am back with another quick tip episode.  These episodes have tips or strategies you can use to help you grow your online business so you can have a bigger impact and increase your revenue in the process.

Today we are talking about how to optimize your funnel by working smarter, not harder. So many people think that the more they offer in their business, the higher their revenue will be, but that could not be further from the truth. The key is to simplify. You really want your business to be focused on one primary offer.

We are looking at the example of an evergreen funnel belonging to accelerator student Kerry, and how we were able to pinpoint where he was losing sales and fix it. If there’s one thing I want you to take away from this episode, it’s that you need to use the data, not your emotions, to make decisions and drive your business.

If you’re a course creator, an online coach, or maybe you have a membership site and you're ready for a consistent five or six-figure months, but you're not sure what you should be doing to get there, I want to invite you to apply for my newly up-leveled monthly accelerator coaching and mastermind program. If you’ve been wanting to get to know me a little better behind the scenes, now is the time!

Today we’re celebrating our 400th episode by having my wife, Amy on the show.  Between The Art of Online Business Podcast and my original podcast, Inside Social Media, I have recorded over 452 episodes.  Pretty crazy!

We wanted to do something a little different to celebrate episode 400, so today I will be answering questions that we gathered from you on Instagram as well as a few from my wife and team.

This is the first episode Amy and I have ever done together and I will admit, I was nervous.  We talk about a lot of things I have never talked about on the podcast before- my struggles with anxiety and depression and how it’s affected my business.  I talk about one of the deepest points in my life and it’s a story I have never shared publicly before.

On today’s episode, you will get a peek into what a “typical” day looks like in the Mulready household.  We talk about our relationship and how we have navigated sharing an at-home workspace, how we separate our work from our personal life, and how becoming new parents affected all of that.

On Today’s Show You’ll Learn:

  • The story of how I met my wife and what our first impressions of each other were
  • Some of our favorite memories and places to travel together
  • How we try to create work-life balance
  • What a typical day/week looks like for me
  • The hardest thing about switching from a corporate job into entrepreneurship
  • How long it took for me to feel like I’d “made it”
  • How struggles with anxiety and depression have affected both of us
  • The one thing I would change in my business journey if I could go back in time
  • The single most impactful mindset shift that I made in the way I relate to success in business
  • How to be a new dad and run a business

Be sure to tune in to today’s special episode!

I am back with another quick tip episode.  These episodes have tips or strategies you can use to help you grow your online business so you can have a bigger impact and increase your revenue in the process.

Today we are talking about the fear of failure.  Many people are afraid of failing, including myself.  Over the past few years, I’ve realized that the fear of failure is one of the biggest things holding my business back from impacting more people and growing to a level that I know it can.

When you are afraid of failing, you tend to play small, you play not to lose, instead of playing to win.  What if failing is exactly what you need to do in order to grow your business more quickly?

Growth in your business comes from trying new things and taking risks.  Some things are going to work and others won’t.  The important thing is to figure out what does work and do more of that and continue to move forward when it doesn’t.

Are you holding yourself back because you aren’t sure how to scale your business?  Are you afraid of failure?

If you have been thinking about joining a mastermind, I encourage you to check out my newly leveled up accelerator mastermind.  What you think is keeping you from growing your online business is not actually the problem.  I see it time and time again.  You need to make the transition from stuck online entrepreneur to an Optimized CEO.

My accelerator mastermind will have you thinking differently and thinking bigger about your business, your team, and your vision so you can create more freedom in your life.  To find out more and to apply head to www.rickmulready.com/accelerator.

Don’t forget to reach out on Instagram @rickmulready and let me know what challenges you are setting for yourself.  I want to hear about your failures-- and hear about how your business is growing more quickly as a result.

Hopefully you were here for Part I of this discussion when we covered some of the basics of email marketing. If not, there is some amazing information in that episode that you are definitely going to want to check out.

My special guest today is Pat Flynn.  Pat is a father, husband, and serial entrepreneur who has built several successful online businesses and impacted millions of people around the world.

Today, we’re diving a little deeper as he takes us through the mind-blowing ways that tagging and segmentation can serve your business. This is how he increased his email open rate from 20% to 65% and his click through rate from 3.5% to 8.5% while sending the same amount of emails. Crazy, right?

On Today’s Show You’ll Learn:

  •  How to 2X, 3X, or even 5X your email open and click rates
  • How waiting tables at a restaurant relates to email marketing
  • The number one question to ask your email list to ensure proper segmentation
  • The three key elements of creating a segmented email campaign
  • How to better understand and serve your audience
  • Why you should spend time analyzing patterns/trends
  • Where to start with creating your “buckets” (tags)
  • How to simplify the process of mapping out your email segmentation to avoid the overwhelm
  • When to clean up your list and re-engage your campaign

This episode is the one to listen to if you are ready to start seeing more results from your emails. People pay big money to learn this stuff, and you have the chance to learn it right here, right now, for free.

I am back with another quick tip episode.  These episodes have tips or strategies you can use to help you grow your online business so you can have a bigger impact and increase your revenue in the process.

I was recently on a podcast and was asked what the number one thing I would say is responsible for my business growth.  I thought it was such a good question, so I wanted to cover this very topic here on the podcast.

The short answer: connections.  And I am not talking about old school networking and handing out business cards. I am talking about making connections with people with sincere intentions.  You should be thinking about making connections with the thought of “how can I add value to this person” with zero expectations of anything in return.

Going to events is a great way to meet like-minded people.  I make it a point to go to conferences and events year after year.  Another way, which is one of my favorites, is to make connections through a mastermind.  This is a great way to go deep with a smaller group of people.  You can bounce ideas off one another, affiliate for each other, and expand your network through each other’s connections.

Tune in to find out more about the #1 key to the hockey stick growth I’ve had in my business over the last 6 and a half years.

Wondering how you can level up your business?

If you have been thinking about joining a mastermind, I encourage you to check out my newly leveled up accelerator mastermind.  Like we covered on today’s show, masterminds are a great way to make new connections and meet new people who share similar goals for business success.

What you think is keeping you from growing your online business is not actually the problem.  I see it time and time again.  You need to make the transition from stuck online entrepreneur to what I like to call the Optimized CEO.

My accelerator mastermind will have you thinking differently and thinking bigger about your business, your team, and your vision so you can create more freedom in your life.  To find out more and to apply head to rickmulready.com/accelerator.

Has your business peaked? Have you been wondering how you can break through your current numbers and take them higher?

In this episode, Kwadwo is walking us through how he broke down the barriers that he had unknowingly set up for himself when he started out, and how he scaled his business to sizes that once seemed impossible.

Kwdawo [QUĀY.jo] helps Mandarin-learners who are struggling to improve their Chinese by showing them how to clearly choose and easily achieve their language goals so they can build momentum and communicate with confidence.

Tune in to learn how Kwadwo went from an unsustainable business model and some pretty intense burnout, to a business strong enough to survive being brought to a screeching halt after the coronavirus outbreak.

If you’ve noticed that your numbers have started to level out instead of continuing to grow, Kwadwo might have a thing or two to teach you.

On Today’s Show You’ll Learn:

  • How he set up an entire business through DMs and targeted ads
  • The process of learning how to use YouTube effectively
  • How he reached 11,000 YouTube subscribers and 26,000 Instagram followers
  • The value of recognizing when it’s time to switch niches
  • Why you need to understand your ideal avatar and their pain points
  • How to overcome burnout
  • How the accelerator program propelled his business
  • How to confront and overcome your doubts
  • Why you should outsource if you can
  • How to persist and adapt to massive change

Kwadwo’s story is both humbling and inspiring. I’m amazed by his resilience and determination to succeed. And succeed he has! Which just goes to show that persistence does pay off.

It’s been a privilege to work with Kwadwo in the accelerator and see how it’s changed his life. The program has been completely revamped and up-leveled since Kwadwo was a part of it, so if you want to see how it can change YOUR life, head to rickmulready.com/accelerator to learn more.

Today I have a quick tip episode for you.  These episodes have tips or strategies you can use to help you grow your online business so you can have a bigger impact and increase your revenue in the process.

In today’s episode, I will be giving you an overview of an affiliate launch I recently did with my good friend, Brandon Lucero.  This launch was the most successful affiliate launch I’ve done in my business.

I will go over what worked extremely well and what I will do differently next time.  It’s important to remember that you don’t need to do “all the things” when you are doing a launch.  You need to look at the things that are working or the ones that have worked in the past and double down on those.

Are you wondering how long you should promote your launch?  Wondering what type of bonus you should provide?  Maybe you are curious what my ads looked like and what changes I would make when running them next time.

Tune in today’s episode to get a behind the scenes look at my most successful affiliate launch ever.

Are you working really long hours in your in-person business and seeing other areas of your life suffer as a result? Do you want to see higher levels of success without increasing the amount of time you work by going online? Then, my guest interview in this episode is perfect for you. Joy Foster is the founder of TechPixies - a UK-based business that helps women upskill with modern technology like social media, WordPress, and MailChimp so that they can confidently return to work, navigate a career change or build a business. She’s also one of my mastermind students, and I could not be more proud of what she’s accomplished.

Joy is passionate about helping women earn what they want while doing what they love and learning new skills along the way. She spent the last year taking a face-to-face instruction model and transitioning it to an online course business. As a result of her hard work, her business won the 2020 Digital Course of the Year award from DigitalWomen Awards.

Joy learned that it’s critical to show up consistently online to serve your audience and that it can be helpful to engage in new ways. She saw a huge jump in her following simply by repurposing her webinar content into a podcast. The tipping point in growing her online course launches came when she started creating her own Facebook ads.

If you’ve wondered what it’s like to be an online course creator and navigate a course launch with all its ups, downs, and tech issues, Joy gives us an honest look. She also shows how strategically outsourcing tasks in your business can lessen the load on your plate and help you to scale.

On Today’s Show You’ll Learn About:

  • Creating consistent revenue in your online business while working fewer hours
  • Successfully launching  using the Livestream launch formula
  • Best practices for transitioning a face-to-face instruction method to an online digital course model
  • Engaging with your audience in new ways
  • Effectively using Facebook Ads to grow your audience and promote your course launches
  • How to use podcasting to repurpose your content and grow your following
  • Increasing prices for your online course

As you can see, Joy has been on a journey of growth in her business over the past year. If you are ready to take a similar journey and are an online expert like Joy, then I’d love to serve you in my newly updated monthly Accelerator Mastermind program. Welcome to another quick tip episode!

Today I want to do something a little bit different. I am going to share with you a mini-coaching session that I recently had with saxophone teacher, Donna Schwartz. This is a quick Q&A session that revolves around helping Donna clarify her “unique solution”.

Listen in as we look at the challenges she is currently experiencing in her business. We will break down what a unique solution entails and will discuss the frameworks and different elements of what you teach and how you teach it.

I'd love for you to listen to this episode through the lens of your own business and think about what your unique solution is.  Think about how you are different from everyone else out there and how you can package your offers to serve your clients and customers and get them the results you both want.

Let’s dive in……

Are you managing FB ads for other businesses or thinking about starting a business to do this? If so, you are going to love my interview with Amanda Bonds.

This episode came out a while ago, but it was so popular that I am bringing it back for our "best of" episode.

Amanda has spent nearly five years developing, testing, and optimizing proven systems for generating sustainable revenue from Facebook ads. Today, we'll hear the story of how she started her business terrified of pricing her services to now getting non-stop referrals and only working with her ideal clients who realize the real value of what she provides.

Amanda also reveals how to avoid being the bottleneck of your own success in your business, the lessons she learned from not following her gut, and how she determines if a client should be working with her or not.

Today I want to talk to all of the Facebook and Instagram ad managers who listen to the show.  I have heard from a lot of you about the uncertain times we are in right now.  Many businesses are cutting back on their ad spend which is causing you to worry about the effects it will have on your business.

If you are an ad manager and feeling uneasy about your business, I encourage you to lean into service and get creative about how you are serving your clients.

Many of you know that I stopped marketing my course for ad managers about a year and a half ago while I was going through transitions in my business.   Now I work with entrepreneurs to help them grow their businesses.  One of my accelerator students, Brandi Mowles has a training coming up that I wanted to tell you about called Three Steps to Consistently Close High-Quality Facebook and Instagram Ad Clients.  If you are looking to start or grow your ad business, you will definitely want to check it out.

Have you been wondering what the heck is going on with Facebook Messenger marketing? In the past, it was all the rage, and everyone seemed to be talking about it. Recently, Facebook made changes about what you can and can not send within Messenger. It’s been a huge source of confusion for people, myself included.

Although I have seen a considerable downturn in the number of advertisers using Messenger, it can still be an effective marketing channel.  Today I will be sitting down with Mike Yan who is the CEO and co-founder of Many Chat to get his take on what to expect with messenger marketing in 2020.

This episode will clear up a lot of questions that you have around Facebook Messenger marketing. Mike lays out a step-by-step plan of action that you can implement in your business and also breaks down the rules to provide clarity about the changes. He will reveal what the future holds for What’s App and Instagram, as well as what you should be doing now if you are ready to invest in Messenger for your business.

One of the most asked questions I get when it comes to tracking the success of Facebook and Instagram ads is  "What's the difference between a custom conversion and a standard event?"

On today’s quick tip episode, I am going to get back to the basics and break down the difference between these two ways to track your ads.

Let’s dive in…….

If you are an online expert or educator, I invite you to register for my brand new training How to Generate Predictable and Profitable Leads and Sales with Facebook and Instagram Ads at www.rickmulready.com/training.  During this training, I break down and simplify the exact step by step process I use in my own business.  You will also learn the common mistakes I see most people making with their ads and how you can avoid them.

I love taking you guys behind the scenes of things going on in my business, and in today’s episode, I am doing just that!

Today we are covering paid workshops, which is a concept that has been around forever, but this is the first time I am trying it for myself.  I created my first workshop earlier this year as I wanted to try something new.  I desired to keep it simple, yet I wanted to over-deliver on a topic for a small price.  Based on the feedback from the workshop, I believe I did just that!

I am breaking it all down for you -- from setting your goals, outlining content, creating a promotional strategy, and evaluating your workshop when it's over.

Launching a profitable paid workshop shouldn't be overwhelming. When you break it down to the must-haves, it becomes so much easier.  I was extremely happy with the results, so I am excited to share what worked, what didn’t, and how you can use paid workshops in your business.

I encourage you to look at the assets you have available that you can leverage, figure out how you want to promote it, and OVERDELIVER to your audience.  I think you'll be amazed at the results!

If you are an online expert and you’re looking for help to take your online business to the next level, I invite you to apply for my accelerator mastermind and coaching program.  This program is for online experts such as coaches, consultants, and online educators who have already had success in their business, but are ready to take it to the next level.  My accelerator program is by application only, so if you are interested, head to https://rickmulready.com/accelerator.
