Are you trying not to freak out about the Apple iOS privacy updates and how they are going to affect your ads?

Don’t panic. We’re getting into everything you need to know in this episode!

First, you need to understand what’s going on here. Things are going to change, but it’s not the end of the world. As long as you understand what’s going on, you’ll be prepared.

To help us with that, we’re going to sit down with a good buddy of mine, Terrell Brown.

Terrell is a Veteran of the Facebook Ads world. Having started paid digital media in the social space starting in 2008, he has spent over $100 Million in ad spend over the course of his time. As a Co-Founder of Ecomm and Coffee and a member of Mobius Media Solutions, he works daily with e-commerce companies, course creators, and more to scale and grow businesses through Facebook ads.

He’s a brilliant Facebook Ads Manager. He also has great contacts at Facebook, so he has been getting a lot of information directly from Facebook about the iOS update, how it’s going to affect our ads and what we can do to prepare for it.

On Today’s Show You’ll Learn:

  • What this update means
  • Why data tracking might be slightly different than you think
  • What changes you can expect to see
  • How this is going to affect your conversion tracking
  • How attribution windows are changing
  • How it will affect the optimization of ad campaigns within Facebook's algorithm
  • What it means to only have eight conversion events
  • What you need to do right now in order to prepare
  • There’s no need to panic. In fact, if you do the work now, you’ll actually come out on top when these changes do come into effect!

If you’re an online course creator, coach, or maybe you have a membership, and you are already having consistent $5K months, but you’re not sure how to take your business to the next level, I have news for you: what you think is holding you back is not what's holding you back.

What you need is a cohesive growth strategy, personalized coaching, group coaching, support, and accountability

That is what I'm offering in my Accelerator coaching program. It’s open and it’s application only, so go to www.rickmulready.com/accelerator to learn more and apply.

I am back with another quick tip episode.  These episodes have tips or strategies you can use to help you grow your online business so you can have a bigger impact and increase your revenue in the process.

What if you only had 3-4 hours a day to work your business? What would you be spending your time on?

Maybe you already only have 3-4 hours a day, and you’re trying to fit everything into that time frame.

You might even be working more hours than that. If that’s the case, I’m going to challenge you to cut down on some things you're doing in your business so you can gain more leverage.

We’re going to talk about some practical tips for leveraging your time and some of the mindset work that needs to happen.

Being more strategic in your business and implementing a plan that allows you to make more while working less is what my Accelerator coaching program is all about. If this is resonating with you, and you're a course creator, online coach or you have a membership program, and you’re not sure what next steps you should be taking, I want to invite you to apply for my Accelerator coaching program. Today, I am bringing you a “Best of” episode that is more relevant now than ever.

What I love most about Facebook and Instagram ads is that when you use them to grow an online business, they are a source of predictable leads and sales. That is the foundation of a scalable business, especially when combined with your organic efforts, such as social media, a podcast, blog or YouTube channel.

What holds so many people from running ads though is the fear of losing money (and/or time!) and not having any results to show for it. Today’s guest is Nicole Burke, and you’re going to get a lot from her story of how she overcame this fear to run ads, and after figuring them out, she is now off to the races!

In addition to running a brick and mortar business called Rooted Garden, which she started with only $400 and grew it to 6-figures in just one year, Nicole is the founder of Gardenary, the online platform that connects beginner and learning gardeners with experienced gardeners through courses, workshops, and garden coaching. Most of our conversation focuses on this business, and how Nicole grew it to over 6-figures as well, without the use of ads and by using super-smart organic strategies, especially on Instagram.

On the Show Today You’ll Learn:

  • How Nicole fell in love with backyard gardening and then created a business around it
  • Why she moved to the online space, plus the pivotal role that Instagram played for her
  • The big vision that Nicole has created for her life and business, and the way she is working backward to achieve it all
  • How she was able to go from a launch that generated just three sales to filling 35 spots in her membership in just a short period of time
  • What she is doing to manage a business professional and personal life while moving towards her long-term vision for the companies
  • Four key strategies that Nicole has used to build her online community intentionally, including one powerful Instagram strategy that you’re going to want to give a try
  • The challenges and limiting beliefs she faced in running Facebook ads and the way that Nicole has overcome them

Now that Nicole has shifted her mindset on paid ads and is seeing great success by using them, the sky is the limit for her and I’m so excited to be sharing this conversation with you today. I hope you can use these lessons to grow your business, and let us Nicole and I know how the strategies she revealed work for you!

If you’d like my help as you do this for your business, then I want to invite you to apply for my Accelerator group coaching program. To find out whether you’re a good fit, go to www.rickmulready.com/accelerator to find out more.

I am back with another quick tip episode.  These episodes have tips or strategies you can use to help you grow your online business so you can have a bigger impact and increase your revenue in the process.

Today I want to talk about a question that someone posted recently in our Optimized CEO Facebook group: how do I automate leads and sales without spending any money on ads?

Ads will accelerate your growth, but if you don’t have a budget for them right now, you have to start by attracting and building an audience of your perfect customers.

This is about being super clear on who you serve and what problem you solve for them. I’ll tell you right now that doing this work is time-consuming, but if you put in the work now, it will pay off later.

You will also need a consistent content strategy.

I’m going to dive deeper into these in the episode so that you can start getting more leads without spending any money on ads.

Don’t forget to take a screenshot of this episode and tag me on Instagram stories to let me know what you think of the new podcast artwork!

I also want to remind you that enrollment for my Offer to Optimized program is open right now for just a few more days. This is for online course creators, maybe you have a membership, or maybe you're an online coach, and you want to be having consistent $5K months, but you're having trouble getting there. If you want to learn more, go to www.rickmulready.com/oto.

Do you want to know how to have the best launch copy on the block?

Today we have Brittany McBean back on the podcast! She is here to talk to us about the entire process of putting together the copy and messaging that we used for my Offer to Optimized launch.

Her and I are covering a lot in this episode. We are breaking down the strategy process of the launch, how we nail down our perfect customer and what the research process looks like. We are also covering how to use surveys to get quality data, what messaging for a launch strategy looks like and more.

Brittany McBean is a conversion copywriter who helps online entrepreneurs stand out with crystal clear messaging and a laser-focused strategy.

She loves writing personality-packed websites, emails, and launches that make the big bucks—and teaching people how to be unapologetically confident, relentlessly snarky, and remarkably persuasive.

On Today's Episode You'll Learn:

  • Brittany’s money-making order of operations
  • Why you have to know your audience before anything else
  • How to research your audience
  • What makes an email survey successful
  • The best way to make a survey
  • How to write specific and engaging questions
  • What sort of questions went into our survey
  • The value of identifying patterns and themes in research
  • The difference between messaging and launch strategy
  • Why you should do a pre-launch

Brittany’s approach to writing copy has been a game changer for my business. This episode is well worth a listen because there is much to be learned from her.

If you liked what you heard today, I want to invite you into my new Optimized CEO Community Facebook group. This is a free Facebook group exclusively for online course creators, maybe you have a membership program, or you're an online coach and you want to optimize your business towards six or seven figures.

I am back with another quick tip episode.  These episodes have tips or strategies you can use to help you grow your online business so you can have a bigger impact and increase your revenue in the process.

Are you trying to figure out what launch method is right for you?

I built my business on webinars. I used webinars because that’s what I was taught and what I knew from day one. I got really good at them and loved them, but in 2017, I was launching a new program and wanted to try something new.

I decided to combine the video series style launch with the live webinar-style launch and that is what I now call the Optimized Launch Method!

Here’s the thing, all different launch methods work. It comes down to what your personal preference is, what your values are and what will resonate with your audience.

In this episode, I want to share with you the types of things that I would encourage you to think about when you're deciding what type of launch to do.

If you have questions about your next launch, you’ve come to the right place.

If you're interested in the Optimized Launch Method and you’re a course creator, online coach, or maybe you've got a membership, and you're looking for a simple, repeatable, low-stress launching option, then I want to invite you to my new free live mini-series training starting on Monday, January 25th.

In the training, I will teach you my Optimized Launch Method. It’s the easiest launch that you will ever do, and by the end of the free training, you're going to have a complete plan for using it in your business. It’s not too late to sign up! To register go to www.rickmulready.com/livetraining.

Making $25k from your first launch sounds pretty great, right?

On today's show, I am sharing with you the journey and evolution of Amy Wine’s business.

Amy Wine is one of my former Accelerator students, and she’s a marriage and family therapist. She has a thriving in-person practice, and she also created an online business called Marriage Sparks in 2019. Marriage Sparks offers a course for couples that takes them from being married roommates to having a marriage on fire.

I mostly brought her on the show to discuss her mindset and her launches because she did $25k in her very first launch. That is just amazing! Not only was her launch successful but her purpose lights her up, and there is nothing better than that.

On Today’s Show You’ll Learn:

  • What it’s like to go from brick and mortar to online
  • The importance of nailing down your messaging
  • How being real attracts people to you
  • Why Amy chose the Optimized Launch Method
  • How to learn from your data
  • The importance of testing and trialing
  • Why you need to know the pain points of your audience
  • How to price your offer
  • How to break your goal down to sound less daunting

As I mentioned in the episode, January 25th is my free live mini-series training where I’m going to be teaching you my Optimized Launch Method. It’s the easiest launch method you’ll ever do, and by the end of the training, you’ll have a complete plan for using it in your business. Do you do launch reviews after your launches to see how everything went?

Well, it’s super important that you do, and I am going to tell you why.

In this episode, I am taking you behind the scenes of my Offer to Optimized launch and giving you the breakdown of what I learned from it.

My team and I did a launch review once it was over to figure out what worked, what didn't, and what we're going to do differently (and better) next time around.

On Today’s Show You’ll Learn:

  • Why I created the Offer to Optimized program
  • The value of scalable intimacy
  • Why I’m okay with not hitting my goal for the launch
  • The importance of looking at earnings per lead
  • The numbers behind my launch
  • How to calculate your earnings per lead
  • Why these numbers are so important
  • The value of personal connection
  • Things that did and did not work well in the launch
  • The importance of doing a review of your launch shortly after it ends

I hope this episode gives you some inspiration for your own launches and shows you how you can learn and improve after each one.

If you’re a course creator, you've got a membership, or you're an online coach looking to scale to six or seven figures, I want to invite you to join us in our free Optimized CEO Community Facebook group. Go to www.rickmulready.com/group to get inside.

I am back with another quick tip episode.  These episodes have tips or strategies you can use to help you grow your online business so you can have a bigger impact and increase your revenue in the process.

I'm excited to be back this year with lots of exciting things in store for my business and for you!

Today, I want to talk about one of the biggest problems that I see course creators making (and I’m seeing it a lot).  The problem is they have too many offers.

When you’re starting out, it’s pretty much inevitable that people are going to ask you for different things. Don’t get distracted by what other people are asking you for. If you aren’t focused on one offer, things are going to get really complicated and really messy.

So today we’re talking about how to simplify and focus on one offer, and how to decide which one it will be.

If you’re a people-pleaser and you’re trying to offer something for everyone, this quick tip is one you need to make sure to listen in to!

Listen up! Team Mulready is hiring! We’re looking for an Online Marketing Assistant, so if you’re interested in joining my team or you want to learn more, go to www.rickmulready.com and click on “join our team.”

And if you're not already in my free Optimized CEO Community Facebook group, join me over there to hear more of what you heard here today at www.rickmulready.com/group

Do you have clarity on what problem you solve for people? If you do, could you have more?

Today you’re going to hear a coaching call that I recently had with one of our new Offer to Optimized students, Lynette Marsden. Lynnette runs a business called Tiny Toes Sleep Consultancy, and she teaches new parents how to get their babies and young kids to sleep better.

In this session, you’re going to hear me helping Lynette find clarity around the problem that she solves.  Listen closely because there is a question that I keep coming back to again and again.

I think you’re going to get a lot from this episode and I’m super excited to dive into it with you.

On Today’s Show You’ll Learn:

  • How to get clarity on your offer
  • The method of selling them what they want but giving them what they need
  • How to segment your audience
  • The value of knowing your target audience
  • The importance of tracking your numbers and testing
  • Why it’s important to get comfortable on video
  • The value of consistency

There’s a reason I kept bringing this discussion back to clarity. Clarity is SO important and you cannot afford to not be clear on how you serve people.

I hope this strategy session got you thinking about how some of these things apply to your business.

I want to invite you into my new Optimized CEO Community Facebook group. This is a free Facebook group exclusively for online course creators, maybe you have a membership program, or you're an online coach, and you want to optimize your business towards six or seven figures. We are officially in 2021! Happy New Year, friends.

Today, I am bringing you a  “Best of” episode that is more relevant now than ever. This was one of THE MOST downloaded episodes in 2020 and for good reason.

If you’re looking to grow your brand and position yourself as a thought leader and authority in your space (plus grow your email list and sell more of your products and services), being a guest on other podcasts is a great way to do it!

So how do you go about getting on other podcasts? I hear excuses from people I speak with all the time, listing all the reasons why they can’t do it. I’m telling you that every single person listening right now has unique gifts to share with the world! You won’t be able to help the people that need your help by playing small though, which is why the message that I have to share in this episode is so important for you to understand.

Not only am I going to give you my blueprint for growing your brand using podcast appearances, but I’ve also asked some of my friends to join me on this episode to share their best tips and strategies as well!

The people I interview in this episode are super successful online business owners, and you just may recognize the names in this All-Star lineup. I was as excited as you will be to hear from Pat Flynn, John Lee Dumas, James Wedmore, Amy Porterfield, Jenna Kutcher, Tarzan Kay, and Julie Solomon, and I was blown away by their expertise and what they share about getting on other podcasts (and I’m sure you will be too)!

On the Show Today You’ll Learn:

  • What you need to always lead with when approaching podcast hosts about being on their show, and what to do before you even reach out
  • One of the best pitches, word for word, that I’ve even gotten from a prospective guest
  • How case studies can be effectively used and the ways I’ve implemented them
  • An Instagram DM video strategy that shows the host that you’re going above and beyond the typical email pitches they receive
  • Other incredible insights from the top online business owners in the industry!

I’ve been doing this podcast for 7 years and it is the most fun I have in my business. I hope you gain insight and knowledge from these outstanding podcast hosts and are inspired to be a guest on a podcast in 2021.

I am back with another quick tip episode.  These episodes have tips or strategies you can use to help you grow your online business so you can have a bigger impact and increase your revenue in the process.

In this episode, I want to share with you how I look at scaling Facebook and Instagram ads.

Some of the things that I’m sharing are new or different approaches that have been working for us, but a lot of them have been the same for a long time.

The thing is, not a lot of people want to do the work. They just want to throw money at it and hope it works. But if you want to scale, it’s not that simple. That is what’s going to separate the people who are going to be successful with their ads from the people who are not.

So today I want to break down how I look at, and how I recommend that you look at, scaling your Facebook and Instagram ads in 2021.

If you haven’t already joined us inside the free Optimized CEO Community Facebook group, I want to invite you to come on over. We have so much fun in there, it’s an amazing community, and you’ll find a lot of great content to help you as you optimize your business. Head to www.rickmulready.com/group to join!

Do you have your legal systems in order? Is it the part of your business that you put off? I totally get it.

Today we’re diving into the legal side of running an online business, with lawyer and Accelerator member Jim Hart.

I asked him to join me because it’s been a while since we talked about anything legal here on the podcast. I know it can be boring, but it is SO important, and if there’s anyone who can teach us about the law without making it boring, it’s Jim.

Jim is the founder of Hawthorn Law. He is an Online Business Lawyer, Entrepreneur, YouTuber, and diehard Cleveland sports fan who has escaped the cold of Ohio to live under the Blue Skies of North Carolina.  Jim is a devoted husband and father of three young kids who loves to camp, hike, run, and make YouTube videos that help online entrepreneurs get their legal house in order so that they can focus on building amazing businesses.

Jim is super approachable, super smart, and I’m so excited to sit down with him for this episode.

On Today’s Show You’ll Learn:

  • The biggest legal mistakes that online entrepreneurs are making
  • Things that will attract the attention of the FTC
  • How you should be setting up your business from a legal standpoint
  • Two things that your website absolutely needs to have
  • Where you should start when it comes to protecting yourself legally
  • What you need to do to protect yourself when it comes to testimonials
  • The difference between copyright and trademark
  • When you might want to consider copyrighting something
  • What you can do when someone is pirating your course
  • What the Lock It Down system is all about

Trust me, getting the legal stuff sorted out is more than worth it. Not only will you be protected if anything were ever to happen, but you’ll also have peace of mind knowing that everything in your business is set up as it should be. Definitely take time to tune in to this special episode!

Have you taken the Business Blindspot Quiz? It’s 11 questions that are going to help you uncover the blind spots in your business. Once you’ve identified them, you will receive action steps for overcoming and fixing those blind spots so that you can regain momentum and traction to reach your goals. If you want to find out what your blind spots are, go to www.rickmulready.com/quiz.

For those of us who run live events, one of the big challenges of 2020 has been what to do. Do you cancel them? Do you take them virtual? What’s the best solution?

Today’s guest, Hallie Sherman, planned a live event for this July that she ultimately decided to take virtual.   And guess what?!  It ended up being a HUGE success!

Today we're going to break down, why it was such a big success; what went into it; and why, for the foreseeable future, she's going to stick with virtual events.

Hallie Sherman is a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) and author behind Speech Time Fun and the SLP Coffee Talk podcast. She creates digital resources which she sells on Teachers Pay Teachers and provides professional development through her Speech Time Fun PD courses and virtual live event, The Speech Retreat Recharge.

Through all of her products and offerings she helps school SLPs plan with ease and confidence and avoid burnout. She helps remind SLPs that they can plan motivating and engaging sessions without using elaborate plans or materials. When she isn’t working on her business, she continues to work full time in the public schools and runs around with her 6-year-old and 2-year-old daughters.

On Today’s Show You’ll Learn:

  • How to recreate the excitement and energy of a live event for a virtual event
  • How to manage working full-time, running an online business, and being a mom
  • Why Hallie decided to take her live event virtual instead of cancelling
  • What fears you have to overcome to plan a virtual event
  • How to handle to the transition from live to virtual
  • What goes into a successful virtual event
  • The marketing materials that were used to create a hype
  • Why virtual events might be even better than live events
  • How to get over 1,000 attendees
  • The value of feedback and testimonials
  • The power of an efficient team

The rise of virtual events has definitely been a really cool thing to come out of 2020. I know that we’ll be seeing a lot more of them, even when in-person events are possible again.   I hope this episode gives you ideas for how to prepare for this change in the future.

Are you an online course creator, coach, or you've got a membership program? Are you looking to optimize your business to the next level and you're making at least $5,000 a month in revenue?  If you’re overwhelmed and unsure what to do to take your business to the next level and you want my help to accomplish that, then my Accelerator program would be a great fit for you.
