It’s Q&A time here on The Art of Paid Traffic podcast!

On the show today I’m answering your Facebook ads questions, diving into topics like:

  • How to hire a Facebook ads manager
  • Who should (or shouldn’t) be looking to outsource their Facebook ads
  • Where to place the Facebook ads pixel and strategies for retargeting audiences
  • Is it ok to make changes to ad sets while they’re running?
  • What does the Estimated Daily Reach mean when you’re setting up your ad set
  • E-commerce strategy
  • And, how do you get people to actually walk into your local business once they’ve redeemed your coupon offer
  • And more…

And specifically, you’ll learn:

  • The questions you should be asking Facebook ads managers before having them run your campaigns

  • The first place you should be looking for potential Facebook ad managers

  • Why it’s a good idea to educate yourself first on Facebook ads before outsourcing

  • Smart Facebook ads strategies for e-commerce businesses

  • How you can get people to come in the door of your local business to redeem coupons – and why you need to be collecting their information

  • And much more!

For most people, change can be hard! If you’re doing Facebook ads, you’ve got to be able to roll with the changes and on today’s episode, I’ll be talking about three big ones that came into effect recently.

They are:

  • The merger of Ads Manager and Power Editor into one combined tool
  • New targeting updates -- no more Job Title and education targeting…
  • And I also give my perspective on what’s happening with all of the accounts being flagged and shut down…

On the Show Today You’ll Learn:

  • The steps to take to create your ads within Power Editor, and why the change by Facebook to combine the two ad creation tools makes sense

  • What happens now to historical data, saved filters and audiences with the new Ads Manager tool

  • What you can do now that self-reported targeting fields such as “Job Title” are now longer available

  • What to do if you’re getting high negative feedback and tips for avoiding advertising false claims that can get your ads flagged

  • Why you need to be reviewing Facebook’s policies regularly!

It can be hard to keep up with the changes Facebook is bringing in at times, but if you really understand the concept of what you’re doing and the objective of your ad campaign, it’s just a matter of making adjustments.

If we want to be advertising on the most effective and cost efficient platform available today, we’ve got to be able to do this and keep moving forward!

On today’s episode of The Art of Paid Traffic, I’m joined by Sam Payne, a CrossFit gym owner in the United Kingdom.

For the past several years, Sam has been trying to grow his business using Facebook ads, and in the last year and a half or so, has seen amazing success.

Sam’s been doing so well using Facebook ads to get new customers into his gym that he’s seeing about a 6000% ROI, while only spending £5.00 per day on ads.

As you’ll hear today, Sam is a frequent listener of The Art of Paid Traffic. But more importantly, he implements and tests what he learns.

We dive into the strategies that are working best for him, the changes he had to make in his marketing strategy, how he researches his targeting, and a whole lot more…

On the Show Today You’ll Learn:

  • The mistakes Sam made when first starting out, and the conversation with a new client that changed everything for him and his business
  • How he uses frequent surveys with clients to see trends, and what he does with the information he learns
  • How Sam discovered overlap when looking at his competitors’ audiences – and used this insight to his advantage
  • Why he deliberately doesn’t mention “Crossfit” early in his longer form content…
  • We dive into all his numbers - how much he spends, the amount of leads generated, sign ups to his introductory course and more
  • The Objectives that he is seeing the best results from (you may find his answer surprising)!
  • How he plans to use these strategies to take his business to the next level (including filling a new facility with members before it even opens)!

As you’ll hear, Sam is a great example of someone who does his due diligence and makes the effort to really learn about his actual customer. Most importantly, he’s not only doing a lot of testing but he’s also tracking his numbers very closely to optimize his results with Facebook ads.

Big Thanks… (and win a 30-minute strategy session with me!)

Huge thank you to everyone who messaged me on Facebook with their feedback and ideas for the podcast!

The response was amazing and I had such a great time talking with all of you on Messenger.

A winner of a 30-minute strategy call with me was chosen and as promised, I messaged them back there on Facebook to let them know they won.

So stay tuned because you’re going to hear that strategy session right here on the podcast.

One piece of feedback that several people gave me was they like these sorts of contests here on the podcast.

And with that, and because the response was so great and I love hearing your feedback, for the foreseeable future here, I’m going to continue this…

So all you have to do is give me your feedback on this podcast, and specifically, I’d like to hear what you’d like to see more of -- topics, guests, style of the show, frequency, length -- any ideas you’d like to share with me, I’d love to hear them.

This is another bonus Strategy Sessions episode where I’m going to take you inside a Facebook ads strategy call with one of my students.

This is a call with Liat Siegel who is an interior designer working with local and residential design, commercial design, she also helps real estate agents with staging, and she’s also working towards working with boutique hotels on improving their interior design.

This strategy call focuses on how she’s trying to use Facebook ads to reach real estate agents to give them value around staging homes that they have for sale.

Specifically, we dive into improving her targeting, how to increase relevance score, the value of leading with great content, improving her ad copy,  amplifying content with Facebook ads, improvements for setting up her Facebook ads campaign, and more...

So we’ll jump right into all that with Liat, but before we do...

I’d love to get your feedback on this podcast, and specifically, I’d like to hear what you’d like to see more of -- topics, guests, style of the show, frequency, length -- any ideas you’d like to share with me, I’d love to hear them.

To share your ideas and feedback with me, you can message me on Facebook at http://rickmulready.com/messenger

When I asked for this feedback over the last couple of episodes, you guys have been really delivering, messaging me with some great ideas.

So, thank you to everyone who has already messaged me there on Facebook to give me your ideas and feedback.

On today’s episode of The Art of Paid Traffic, I’m sharing with you lessons learned during the July launch of my FB ADvantage LOCAL program.

We had a perfect storm of technical issues like we’ve never had before and I want to share with you what happened and the lessons I learned in the hope that it can help your business -- particularly when it comes to the big problems we had with our Facebook ads.

In addition to the Facebook ads issues, we had also major problems with our Infusionsoft email campaign AND my site got hacked just as the launch was about to close.

Good times, indeed...

Even if you’re not doing launches in your business right now, hearing about what happened and the lessons I learned are still going to be super useful for you, so don’t wait on diving into the episode.

On the Show Today You’ll Learn:

  • How scaling our ads affected the delivery of the existing ads that were running
  • Why, as frustrating as Facebook ads can be at times, you still gotta keep rolling

  • What to do when you get into what I call Facebook’s “negative algorithm”

  • My hypothesis of why the issues happened - how audience overlap, our starting daily budget and “slow” conversions out of the gate affected the campaign’s performance…
  • The single biggest lesson I’ve learned about launching

  • And so much more!

I Want to Hear From You! (+ Win a 30-Minute Strategy Call with Me)

I’d love to get your feedback on this podcast, and specifically, I’d like to hear what you’d like to see more of -- topics, guests, style of the show, frequency, length -- any ideas you’d like to share with me, I’d love to hear them.

To share your ideas and feedback with me, you can message me on Facebook.

And, when you do message me with your ideas and feedback, I’m going to pick one person at random to win a 30-minute strategy call with me -- we could talk about Facebook ads, growing your business, online marketing strategy, growing a team -- whatever you’d like to talk about.

So, I’ll choose a winner on Friday, September 8th and I’ll message you to let you know you’ve won.

If you listen to this after September 8th, I’d still love to hear from you!

Thanks a lot, in advance...
