I’m begging you to stop creating small offer funnels in your business…

You have to stop chasing the shiny object and instead, focus on what's more important in your business.

Small offer funnels are nothing new. They have been around for years, and I know a lot of people turn to them when their flagship offer isn’t selling. Believe me when I say that this isn’t the answer though.

In this episode, I am breaking down exactly why I'm saying this and what you should be doing instead of creating small offer funnels.

What I have to say about this and my advice for you is going to save you a lot of time, a lot of money and a lot of frustration, so listen closely.

Anxiety has played a large part in my life and my business over the last 7.5 years.

My guest in this episode, Jess Rodriguez, has been able to use anxiety as her superpower, so she is joining me to share her story.

Her anxiety has empowered her to work less and live more, and that has allowed her to create the business that is right for her. This is so important and something that I talk about all the time - we are creating our business around our life, not the other way around.

As the CEO of Freedom Driven Success, Jessica Rodriguez is on an unapologetic mission to help online businesses expand beyond a 1:1 reliant business model with scalable offers that allow them to amplify their impact and profit, without increasing their work hours.

On Today’s Show You’ll Learn:

  • What to do when you realize you need to remove yourself from your business
  • How to handle unhappiness in your business
  • The importance of setting boundaries
  • How to overcome perfectionist tendencies
  • Why you should make a list of your feelings when you feel anxious
  • How to build in self-care time during a stressful time in your business
  • Systems that you can create to simplify your workday

My journey is very similar to what Jess shares in this episode, so expect to hear me open up about my experience with anxiety alongside her. I am sharing some things that I haven’t shared publicly before.

Even if you don’t suffer from anxiety, overwhelm or worry, I really encourage you to listen to this vulnerable, powerful, and inspiring conversation.

Have you ever thought about switching your course to a membership?

A lot of online business owners ask me this question, and I actually love to talk about it because it allows me to discuss two of the three pillars of being the optimized CEO of a business: optimized mind and optimized sales and marketing.

I had a coaching call with one of my accelerator coaching members recently, and this is exactly what we talked about during an “Ask me Anything” session.

In this episode, I am taking you behind the scenes of our call, so I can let you in on my opinion here.

If you have ever considered switching your course to a membership, listen to this episode because I am teaching you how to think about things differently in your business so that you can get the outcome that you want without having to do a whole lot of extra work.

Do you use any type of quiz as a lead magnet in your business?

Some business owners ask me if quizzes are dead. My guest in this episode, Linda Sidhu, is here to share with us her expertise on quizzes (specifically personality-based quizzes) and tell us why they aren’t at all dead!

We're breaking down exactly why it's important to have a quiz that allows you to learn as much as possible about the person taking the quiz, how to use their responses to serve them in the best way possible, and how to make it really fun for them.

Linda Sidhu is a list-building expert and strategic partner with Interact (the quiz platform), who helps entrepreneurs create irresistible personality quizzes that bring in hundreds of new subscribers on autopilot.

As a former top ten pharmaceutical sales representative, she had extensive training in personality types. She took the same methods that worked for selling products face-to-face and turned them into a personality quiz framework that converts views to leads at 70% and helps craft personalized marketing for her customers. Linda has been featured in Interact’s quiz marketing podcast and the #prettyawkward entrepreneur podcast.

On Today’s Show You’ll Learn:

  • If quizzes are as effective as they used to be
  • What personality quizzes do for the user and business owner
  • The percentage of leads that come from quizzes on average
  • How long a quiz should be
  • Examples of how to structure answers
  • How to use the results of personality quizzes
  • The best way to name your quiz

Quizzes are actually one of the best list-building strategies that you can do in your business, so listen in to this episode to learn why and how to leverage them as a lead magnet.

Check out my quiz after you listen to understand the invisible roadblocks in your business that are very likely tripping you up and keeping you from gaining the traction and the momentum that you really want and need. Visit www.rickmulready.com/quiz!

What if I told you that I could help you cut 90 minutes from your work day every single day with just one simple exercise?

You need to understand your financial metrics when it comes to your business.

I say this ALL the time, so we are actually getting into the details of it in this episode.

I am joined by Michael King to talk about the critical four financial metrics of your business: revenue, gross profit, net profit, and cash.

Michael is a business money coach and the CEO of KFE Solutions. After spending the first 11 years of his career in the military, Michael ventured into the world of business. He quickly learned that he needed to level up his financial IQ to survive.

The big problem he found was the fact that most financial “experts” couldn’t explain business money concepts in a way that could be quickly understood and easily applied to real-world problems that entrepreneurs encounter.

Michael decided to bridge that gap. In 2016, he created KFE Solutions with the mission of helping business owners understand their numbers so they can make better decisions. Since then, Michael and his team have worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs to help them scale their businesses profitably.

On Today’s Show You’ll Learn:

  • The percentage of businesses that fail because of poor cash flow management
  • How your decisions impact revenue, gross profit, net profit, and cash
  • The number one thing to look for in a bookkeeper
  • Why you need to look at least 6 weeks into the future for your cash flow forecast
  • How cash flow forecasting differs from profit
  • The amount of clarity that cash flow forecasting brings into our life and business
  • What you should consider when hiring from a cash flow perspective
  • Understanding decisions from a profitability standpoint
  • Mapping out payment plans for Facebook ads

I wish I had this conversation with Michael earlier in my business because it would have saved me a lot of confusion!

If you are in need of some financial guidance, listen up to learn all about the critical four financial metrics of your business: revenue, gross profit, net profit, and cash.

Here’s the truth: the number of business decisions that you're going to need to make as your business grows is only going to increase.

I put my business decisions through what I call the values-based decision filter, and I do this no matter how big or small they are.

In this episode, I am sharing what this framework looks like and why it is so important to be clear on your values in order to do it.

The values-based decision filter will help you with decisiveness which falls under the “Optimized Mindset” pillar of the Optimized CEO method. As a reminder, the Optimized CEO method is made up of three pillars: optimized mindset, optimized sales and marketing, and optimized systems and processes.

As you gain strength in each pillar, you can begin to generate more revenue, have less stress, and create more freedom for yourself.

Tune in to learn more about this and why your ability to make business decisions thoughtfully can help you on your journey to becoming an optimized CEO.

Are you confident in your marketing efforts?

I am actually in the middle of working on mine, and I am getting help from my guest, India Jackson.

India is the business partner of Erica Courdae, my diversity, equality, and inclusion consultant, so she is helping me ensure that my branding and marketing efforts foster meaningful connections and inclusiveness.

Throughout this conversation, we get into the details of what stale marketing is, why less is more when it comes to your marketing, how to use stories in your business to set yourself apart, and a whole lot more.

India Jackson is the CEO of Flaunt Your Fire and co-founder of Pause on the Play The Community, helping entrepreneurs amplify their influence without changing who they are. From beauty model and bodybuilder to published photographer, for ten years India watched as talented professionals were forced to adopt identities that were sellable but not authentic. Her brand visibility agency and podcast now help clients ditch stale marketing, break out of industry molds, and build authority by being themselves.

India is a first-generation college graduate, earning a Bachelor of Art and Design while working full time and launching a business. She’s been featured by Forbes and She Podcasts Live and is trusted by leading brands across North America, including Christian Dior and Tyler J. McCall.

On Today’s Show You’ll Learn:

  • What stale marketing is
  • Infusing your values in everything that you do as a company
  • Creating an amazing experience as a brand
  • Building a bond that goes beyond what you sell
  • Doing things that align with you even with fear
  • Being intentional about what you want to share
  • How to align what you believe with what people perceive

Remember, attraction is not determined by the tactics or strategies that you use, but it is determined by how you share your purpose, your culture, and your values.

For more information and advice on how to do this in your own business, listen in to hear from India Jackson.

What does it mean to you to brace for impact?

For Ashley Shaw, former Accelerator coaching member and my guest in this episode, it means preparing for drastic changes in life and in business. For example, Ashley just had a baby, so there were so many things that changed in her life recently!

We are getting into the details of this by talking about how this affects different things in life and in business and what to do about it!

Ashley Shaw teaches entrepreneurs how to grow their business through their marketing efforts while seriously taking down their overwhelm. That is kind of her sweet spot. She’s worked in the fitness industry for the past 16-years starting with the largest fitness companies in Canada and a few “ma and pa” shops in between. Her mission is to help eliminate the overwhelm through DFY (done for you) marketing templates so her clients can build the authentic business of their dreams.

Since becoming a mom, Ashley has been running her seven-figure business all while only working for four hours per day. So much of that can be contributed to bracing for impact.

On Today’s Show You’ll Learn:

  • Important shifts that lead to exponential growth
  • The benefit of hiring a coach to better understand your direction
  • Having the confidence to move forward
  • Hiring for roles to help gain traction
  • Understanding your own desire zone
  • Not basing your worth on your business
  • Why you need to be clear on your offer
  • The benefit of a sales and marketing scorecard
  • Lessons that come out of bracing for impact

Ashley and I cover a wide variety of topics in this episode. We get into the value of knowing the numbers in her business, what happens when you really learn how to launch, shifting strategies when they stop working, and more.

There is so much value in this conversation, so tune in to hear from Ashley and learn how you too can brace for impact!

If you're an online course creator or an online coach experiencing something similar to Ashley, I want to invite you to apply for my Accelerator Coaching Program. The landscape has changed for Facebook and Instagram ads yet again due to iOS 14, and we all need to make sure that we are on top of it!

If you have been running ads recently, you have likely noticed these changes. I have heard that some results are great and others are not so good because of them, but what is important to realize is that these changes are just beginning because only about 10-14% of iOS users have updated to iOS 14 so far.

In this episode, I am sharing some best practices for Facebook ads that you will want to follow to ensure that your account is set up the right way. These best practices will also make sure that your ad campaigns are set up for success.

We are getting into what this means for those of us who run ads, what it means for consumers, how to navigate these changes and so much more because I want to make sure that you feel completely prepared to take this on in your business.

If you’re willing to learn, be patient and ride out these challenges, you will win in the long run because a lot of advertisers will not take the time to learn the best practices.

Tune in to learn more about this and what you need to start doing right now!

If you want to have a bigger impact in your business but you're not exactly sure how to achieve that without working harder and longer, apply to my 12-month program rickmulready.com/accelerator! Are you the one running your business or is your business running you?

I went through a time in my business when my business was definitely running me, and I have talked to a lot of other people that have said the same thing.

I am interviewing one of our Accelerator coaching members, Caitlin Mitchell, in this episode to talk all about her experience with this, how it affected her and how she has been able to turn her mindset and business around to gain more control.

Caitlin Mitchell is one of the co-founders and CEO of EB Academics, an organization on a mission to provide teachers with engaging and rigorous ELA lessons. Caitlin and her business partner, Jessica, founded EB Academics with the desire to help English teachers find success in their reading and writing curriculum while providing a community of like-minded educators. Through their online EB Writing Program and monthly membership, The EB Teachers’ Club, they have helped thousands of ELA teachers support their students in mastering standards.

On Today’s Show You’ll Learn:

  • The impact that being a business owner has on your life
  • How consuming running a business can be
  • Focusing on being a leader instead of the details of the day to day
  • The benefit of bringing employees onto your team
  • How to slowly release control with new hires
  • Adjusting your hiring strategy based on your finances and workload

Remember, we are building our business around our life, not the other way around. We want to be present for the most important things and relationships in our lives, and we can only do that when we are the ones running the show.

Whether you relate to this right now or you feel yourself heading in this direction, I know this episode will help you better understand what to do about it.

Tune in to learn more about Caitlin, her experience with this and what she did to take the lead as the CEO of her business.

If you're an online course creator or an online coach experiencing the same types of feelings as Caitlin, I want to invite you to apply for my Accelerator Coaching Program.
